Defense of Marriage Statement

In as much as it has become a controversy in our time of the Defense of Traditional Marriage as defined by the word God and Nature itself we the N.C.W.C, Inc do set forth the following conviction.

The word of God is clear; that in the beginning God our creator made man in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26) God made Male and Female (Genesis 1:27) giving them the command to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28).  Then God viewed all that He made and decreed that by His making and intention “it was very good” (Genesis 1:31).  Because of the clarity of Gods word in creation we believe marriage can only exist between one Man and one Woman, and marriage must be honorable (Hebrews 13:4).  Marriage is defined in the Word as a man (male) and a woman (female) I Corinthians 7:1-4 and the teachings of Christ affirm this as a man and his wife (Mark 10:6-9).

In keeping with God’s standard we believe the marriage union to be only between one man and one woman as God created.  (A sex change may alter the appearance but not God’s creation) Be it therefore resolved we affirm most strongly the Biblical view of Holy Matrimony. 

Article XV, Section 11 of the Ohio Constitution, the Defense of Marriage amendment states:

"Only a union between one man and one woman may be a marriage  valid in or recognized by this state and its political subdivisions.  The state and its political subdivisions shall not create or recognize a legal  status for relationships of unmarried individuals that intends to approximate the design, qualities, significance or effect of marriage."
